chapels at Vvedenskoye cemetery
One of these chapels, built in the 1910s, is located on the site where members of the Erlanger family, major industrialists and philanthropists, are buried. The chapel is an architectural monument, on its wall you can see the mosaic “Christ the Sower” by Petrov-Vodkin. In the mid-90s, the Erlanger Mausoleum became one of the sites of the all-Russian cultural heritage. It is believed that the walls of the chapel have supernatural power and contribute to the fulfillment of desires. They are dotted with various petitions and pleas — from asking to heal cancer to the student's desire to receive good grades.
The second chapel, built relatively recently, is located on the grave of Elder Zosima (Zechariah). On its doors there is a sign stating that Archimandrite Zechariah possessed numerous virtues and deserves the title of saint. According to legend, those who seek to find their life partner pray in this chapel. In addition, if young people who are going to marry have any doubts, they should come to the grave of Elder Zosima and ask for his advice. It is said that it makes it easier to find and choose the right solution.
