Unter den Linden
Unter den Linden is one of Berlin's most famous boulevards, stretching from the Brandenburg Gate to the Berliner Dom. The tree-lined avenue dates back to the 16th century and has been a central thoroughfare for centuries, named after the linden trees that line its sides. It is home to many of Berlin's most important historical and cultural landmarks.
Key sites along Unter den Linden include the Humboldt University, the State Opera House, the German Historical Museum, and the Neue Wache, which serves as a memorial to the victims of war and tyranny. The boulevard is also known for its grand architecture, with buildings such as the Zeughaus (Old Arsenal) and the Kronprinzenpalais (Crown Prince's Palace).
Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk along the boulevard, taking in the sights, or stop at one of the many cafes and restaurants that line the street. Unter den Linden is not only a historical and cultural hotspot but also a vibrant part of Berlin's city life.
