Tempodrom
The Tempodrom is a versatile event venue in Berlin, known for its unique architecture that resembles a circus tent. Originally founded in 1980 as a small circus tent on Potsdamer Platz by Irene Moessinger, it moved multiple times before finding its permanent home near Anhalter Bahnhof in 2001. The new building features a bold, expressionist design with a white reinforced concrete roof that evokes the original tent shape, giving the Tempodrom its distinct and recognizable appearance.
The Tempodrom hosts a diverse array of events, from concerts, comedy shows, and theater performances to conferences and galas. With two arenas under its impressive tent-like roof, it has a capacity of up to 4,200 guests, making it suitable for both large-scale productions and intimate events. Notable performances have included artists like the Pet Shop Boys, Helge Schneider, and Sascha Grammel, and the venue also holds annual events such as the Roncalli Christmas Circus and Holiday On Ice.
In addition to its main arenas, the Tempodrom also houses the Liquidrom, an urban spa that offers guests a unique sensory experience, floating in warm saltwater pools while listening to underwater music. With its flexible spaces and vibrant programming, the Tempodrom is one of Berlin's premier locations for entertainment and cultural events.
