Basilica dei Santi Silvestro e Martino ai Monti

San Martino ai Monti is a church in Rome, Italy, known for its beautiful interior and historic significance. It was built in the 4th century on the site of a Roman bath complex, and was initially dedicated to St. Sylvester. It was later rededicated to St. Martin of Tours, and has since become an important pilgrimage site for devotees of the saint.

The church features a stunning apse mosaic dating back to the 5th century, as well as impressive frescoes from the 8th century. Its architecture combines both early Christian and medieval elements, making it a fascinating example of Romanesque architecture.

San Martino ai Monti is also home to several relics, including the tomb of St. Praxedes and the chains that are said to have bound St. Peter during his imprisonment in Rome.
