Rostovskaya embankment
Like many streets in Moscow, Rostovskaya Embankment got its name from the nearby settlement of the Rostov Metropolitan. The bank of the Moscow River is quite high here — once part of the embankment was even called Mukhina Gora.
One of the most famous buildings of the embankment is a residential building designed by architect Shchusev in the post-constructivism style. Famous people of the Soviet era lived here — architect Ginzburg, linguist Rosenthal, Minister of Light Industry Tarasov.
Once upon a time, the Annunciation Church, built at the end of the 17th century, was located on the current Rostovskaya Embankment - there is still a house here that went around it on both sides. The church was demolished in the middle of the last century.
