The monument was made in the studio of architect Merkulov and installed by workers of locomotive workshops in 1925. Today, very few people know about the unusual monument to Lenin, and it is not easy to get there. But, despite this mystery, “mechanical Lenin” is included in reference books and readers on architectural buildings of the avant-garde style. To install it, workers of the railway depot made a structure consisting of wheels from a steam locomotive, various metal handles and mechanisms, on which Ilyich was erected.

The sculpture delights any person who is lucky enough to see it. By the way, the official name of the monument is the Mobile Monument to Lenin, and “mechanical Lenin”, “Lenin on Wheels”, “Lenin on a Handcar” are already folk art.
