Architects Pronin and Ovsyannikov worked on the project of the Kuznechny Market building in 1922-1925. The construction of the covered market took more than two years, and in 1927 the building was completed. The building amazed with its spaciousness and excellent lighting: the ground floor is decorated with glazed arcades (skylight), the main entrance is built in the form of an arch, surrounded by four columns, on the sides there are two male figures — a worker and a peasant with tools and rolled up sleeves. The main entrance is dominated by a clock tower.

Today, many markets, unable to compete with stores, have begun to close. Despite this seemingly unfavorable situation for trade, Kuznechny continues to exist and develop. Local meat and dairy products deserve special attention — they are always guaranteed to be fresh, of high quality and have been thoroughly tested in the laboratories of sanitary and epidemic control, which is is indicated by the seal on them.
