Tavrichesky garden
The Tavrichesky Garden is one of the main attractions of St. Petersburg. It was created at the end of the 18th century by Master Gould around the Tauride Palace. At the same time, the Garden Master's House appeared here — a small estate designed by Gould and his co-author, architect Volkov. This architectural monument is still located on the territory of the park today.
The Tauride Garden is mentioned in many literary works. Dmitry Shostakovich also played here, in a small club. The garden has undergone many trials, has been renamed several times, but now it has returned to its historical name.
Today, the garden has been completely restored, and its appearance is as close as possible to its original appearance. There are neat alleys and lawns, a picturesque pond in which swans live. Old trees — oaks, larches and lindens — have been preserved along the borders of the garden.
On the territory of the park there are playgrounds and sports grounds, an ice rink, as well as a [greenhouse of the Tavrichesky Garden] (https://kudago.com/spb/place/oranzhereya-tavricheskogo-sada/) with exotic plants. By 2024, it is planned to open a large public space in the vacant premises of the greenhouse.
