Mashenka and Hans

An exact copy of this monument is installed in Germany, in Denkendorf. The monument embodies the friendship of two peoples — Russians and Germans. Both members of the composition are dressed in national costumes: a representative of the Saxon people is dressed in Bavarian trachten, and a representative of the Slavic people is dressed in a Russian sundress. At first glance, both are no more than 14 years old. It seems that two children are spinning in the dance: Hans invites a Russian girl to dance. The author of the monument wanted to express the idea of a “dialogue” of cultures, without it the world will not be able to develop and will die,” the monument says.
