Immediately after the completion of construction, test pilots, aviation workers and the highest ranks of the CPSU Central Committee received apartments in the high-rise building. During the construction of the new building for the US Embassy, the top two floors of the high-rise were given to the KGB. Equipment for monitoring American colleagues was placed there.

The main building of the high-rise has 24 floors. It is surrounded by side buildings (18 residential floors each). Together, they form a single array based on the ground floor. The facade of the building is decorated with sculptures from the recent past — figures symbolizing creativity, defense and labor. The dome of the high-rise is crowned with a traditional Soviet star.

Currently, the high-rise building on Kudrinskaya Square has a total of 450 apartments, and shops, underground garages and a bowling club on the lower floors.
